Outside the Studio Walls

I have returned from my fishing trip and I am ready to share my adventures.
The above photo collage is what happened the first time I cast my line in Centerville,
Ohio. A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a great little store called the Gypsy Warehouse. The owner is a true gypsy at heart and a fellow Texan. She and I became fast friends. As you can see , she has a little bit of everything. You can spend hours perusing her store and never see all there is to see. When she finds something new to sell she says, "Look what the gypsy dragged in!"
This last Friday I was the featured artist in an event she holds every third Friday of the month. The theme was Tuscany. It was a very successful show with over 100 people in attendance.
That afternoon I was finishing up a few errands. I had just turned down my street when a giant hawk almost hit my windshield. I nearly swerved off the road as he landed in an adjacent tree. He was huge! I have to remind you that we live in the suburbs, so this was quite unusual. The whole time we were staring at each other. It was if time stood still. Needless to say, it was one of those moments when I didn't have my camera. Perhaps, because it was only for myself to see.
Later I discovered that when a hawk comes to you, it is indicating that you are now awakening to your soul purpose in life. It can teach you how to fly high, while keeping yourself connected to the ground.
I imagine this hawk was also telling me to stay focused. There is always someone or something that can cause you to deviate. In most cases, it may cause you to swerve abruptly off the road.
I just love when nature forces us to take a closer look at our surroundings and forces us to view our lives from a higher perspective.

Gone Fishing

This picture makes me laugh everytime I see it. I had just had a wonderful lunch with a new friend. One of the many things I miss so much about Germany is that you can take your dogs everywhere. Schatzi behaved so well in restaurants. She'd always sit under the table; you never even knew she was there.
My friend wanted to take a picture of us in the town's square near this fountain. Right before she snapped the photo someone decided to take a plunge!
I will be on a short break and plan to be back next week.
Please check back soon.
